Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking a PRN Surgical Technologist to assist in the operating room and support the surgical team. The role involves scrubbing, gowning, glove procedures, and preparing sterile fields under the supervision of surgeons and RNs.

Responsibilities include assisting with instrumentation, draping, counts, dressing applications, and decontamination. Flexibility to different start/end times is required, with call duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program accredited through CCAAHEP or ABHES OR military surgical technology program OR state license as an LPN.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist TS-C or CST.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or Red Cross.

Responsabilités

• Assist surgeons in the scrub capacity.
• Scrub, gown and glove caregivers.
• Set up tables with instruments and supplies.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon, including instruments, sutures, sponges and supplies.
• Assist in preparing and draping patients and operative areas.
• Maintain aseptic technique.
• Count instruments, sponges and needles with a circulating RN.
• Assist in applying dressings and casts.
• Assemble instruments and equipment for decontamination.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and stock supplies.
• Assist the surgical team as a circulator under RN direction.
• Transport patients and support preoperative preparation.
• Possess call responsibilities.

Formation

Surgical Technology program accredited through CCAAHEP or ABHES

Military surgical technology program

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license

BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
