Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Stepdown RN to deliver patient care using the nursing process, collaborate with the care team, and lead patient teaching activities. The role is per diem (PRN) with 24 hours required across a 6-week period, on a unit handling stepdown and multisystem patients.

The ideal candidate will have an active RN license, BLS, and experience in critical care settings. Strong communication, advocacy, and clinical judgment are essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state they practice (or compact license).
• BLS required; ACLS preferred and must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• CCRN, PCCN, NIH Stroke certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop a care plan.
• Administer medications safely following policies and procedures.
• Coordinate care across hospital departments and with care teams.
• Advocate for patient safety and participate in quality improvement.
• Provide patient and family education and support.
• Manage care for patients with complex conditions and multisystem injury.
