Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services in Oakland, CA is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide direct patient care in a therapy department, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

You will evaluate and treat patients to maximize speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities; document services; and collaborate with families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team.

Supervising Clinical Fellows and other SLPs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements are key responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• CA license or eligibility for licensure.
• 2–3 years rehab experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and treats patients to maximize speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities within each patient’s limitations.
• Documents services in medical records and communicates with families, physicians, and the health team.
• Supervises Clinical Fellows and other SLPs in direct patient care and related activities.
• Develops treatment plans, obtains physician approvals, and ensures proper documentation and billing.
