Job summary

Rockport Healthcare Services in California is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide direct patient care in a skilled nursing setting, focusing on improving speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities.

You will evaluate and treat patients, document services, educate families and staff, supervise fellows and other SLPs, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary rehab team; a $7,500 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of speech-language pathology evaluation and treatment for medically based disorders.
• Ability to supervise and direct assistants and aides; knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with all staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment programs to maximize speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing abilities.
• Evaluate and treat patients and document services in medical records.
• Communicate with families, physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Supervise Clinical Fellow and other SLPs in direct patient care and related activities.
• Demonstrate safe working practices and contribute to professional development.
