Job summary

Spokane of Cascadia LLC seeks a licensed Speech Language Pathologist to assess and treat residents in a sub-acute/long-term care setting. You will develop individualized care plans and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve communication, swallowing, and cognitive function.

The role requires a Bachelor of Science in Speech Language Pathology, current state licensure, CPR certification, and a willingness to work flexible shifts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
  • Current license in Speech Language Pathology as required by state law.
  • Valid CPR certification required.
  • Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Screens and evaluates patients/residents and develops appropriate care plan.
  • Under a physician's direction, provides direct patient/resident treatment based on established plan of care.
  • Plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication and/or swallowing or cognitive problems.
  • Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests.
  • Instructs residents/patients, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills.
  • Completes required forms and clinical records in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.
  • Documents in patient records in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Devises special tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients.
  • Provides comprehensive and compassionate therapy services in a sub-acute/skilled nursing facility setting.
  • Works collaboratively with other rehab therapists and nursing staff in a supportive team-working environment.
  • Maintains resident/patient privacy pursuant to HIPAA.
  • Ensures punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts.
