Job summary

The Garlands of Barrington, Barrington, IL, seeks a PRN Server to provide personalized dining service for our members. This role offers flexible schedules with an hourly rate of $15.50–$16.00, commensurate with experience.

You will engage with members in dining areas, describe menu options, and collaborate with the Executive Chef to ensure a high standard of presentation and hospitality. Prior restaurant or lounge experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of dining service experience.
• Strong customer-service orientation and adaptability.
• Excellent organizational skills for multitasking.
• Team-oriented with good communication at all levels.
• Willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to learn and use a computerized ordering and billing system.
• Previous restaurant or lounge experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interact with members in restaurants, dining areas, and conference rooms to ensure satisfaction and build relationships.
• Maintain high standards of presentation, including food sequencing, table settings, and surroundings.
• Describe menu selections and wine pairings, answer questions, and seek additional information from the Executive Chef.
• Input data into the POS system accurately.
• Provide additional assistance to customers as needed (e.g., escort members to apartments/villas, deliver food when members feel unwell).
• Maintain cleanliness of dining rooms and serving areas.
