Job summary

The Garlands is seeking an attentive Healthcare Server to provide top-tier dining and beverage service to residents across assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care floors. You will ensure meals are prepared and delivered with accuracy to meet individual diet orders and preferences.

Responsibilities include setting the dining room, transporting meals, recording temperatures, assisting residents, and maintaining a clean dining environment.

Qualifications

• Able to lift items up to 25 lb.
• Must be able to move tables and chairs, boxes and other containers.
• Excellent mobility for long periods of walking, bending, stooping and standing.

Responsibilities

• Set dining room before/after each meal period (tables, glassware, napkins).
• Transport food from main kitchen in meal cart and record temperatures as required.
• Know members diets orders and ensure correct food is served per diet orders.
• Provide food in appropriate sequencing per members preferences and texture/liquid needs.
• Assist customers as needed (walk to apartment, deliver food when unwell).
• Describe menu items and obtain extra information from Nutrition/Dining Manager as needed.
• Input orders into POS system and fill meal tickets as applicable.
• Maintain dining room cleanliness (mopping, dusting).
• Restock snack stations and transport dirty dishes to kitchen.
• Ensure proper food service and timely delivery to residents.

(Tables set, glassware shined, napkins, Etc.)Transport food in meal cart from the main kitchenProperly take temps of food items and record as necessary, per regulationsKnow all members diets orders and ensure all members receive appropriate food as orderedEnsure food is provided in appropriate sequencing per members preferencesProvide food according to Diet Ordered (texture/liquid) as applicableProvide additional assistance to customers as needed (e.g., walk A Member back to the apartment, bring food to them when they are not feeling well, etc.).Be able to describe menu selections, answers questions and seeks additional information from Nutrition and Dietary Manager, Prairieview Dining Manager, Executive Chef, and Sous Chef if needed, in order to provide customers with all the information needed to make their selections.Input data into POS system as applicable.Assist in filling out paper meal tickets as applicable.Maintain cleanliness of dining rooms by mopping, dusting, etc.Clean, maintain and restock snack stations throughout the workday and at the end of the shift.Transport dirty dishes to the main kitchen for the dishwasher to clean/transport clean dishes back to the skilled nursing unit.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Able to lift items up to 25 lb.Must be able to lift and move tables and chairs, boxes and other containers.Must be able to move arms and hands in various directions to clean tables and workstations.Able to tolerate long periods of walking, bending, stooping and standing.Maintain a current State of Illinois Sanitation Licensed/Food Handlers (This can be provided by The Garlands).C.N.A. license or in the process of completing a C.N.A. program a plusThe ability to learn and use the computerized ordering and billing system.Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.Conversational English required.
