The Garlands of Barrington in Barrington, IL is seeking a Healthcare Server for part-time dining and beverage service across Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing and Memory Care floors. You will ensure the dining room is properly set, transport food from the kitchen, and support residents with their meal needs while maintaining safety and courtesy.

Qualifications include ability to lift up to 25 lb, flexible weekends/holidays, and a State Sanitation/Food Handlers license; CNAs are a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift items up to 25 lb and move tables/chairs.
• Able to walk, bend, stand for long periods and maintain sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Set dining room before/after meals; table setup, glassware, napkins.
• Transport food from main kitchen.
• Take temperatures of foods and record as required.
• Ensure dietary orders are followed and meals served per diet.
• Provide additional assistance to residents as needed.
• Input data into POS system and handle meal tickets.
• Maintain cleanliness and restock snack stations.
• Transport dishes to/from kitchen.

The Healthcare Server is responsible for providing the highest level of dining and beverage service to the members ofThe Garlands in the Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing and Memory Care floors while building trusted and valued relationships.

Job Description for Healthcare Server:

• Ensurethat the dining room is set appropriately before/after each meal period. (Tables set, glassware shined, napkins, Etc.)
• Transport food in meal cart from the main kitchen
• Properly take temps of food items and record as necessary, per regulations
• Know all members diets orders and ensure all members receive appropriate food as ordered
• Ensure food is provided in appropriate sequencing per members preferences
• Provide food according to Diet Ordered (texture/liquid) as applicable
• Provideadditional assistance to customers as needed (e.g., walk A Member back to the apartment, bring food to them when they are not feeling well, etc.).
• Be able to describe menu selections, answers questions and seeks additional information from Nutrition and Dietary Manager, Prairieview Dining Manager, Executive Chef, and Sous Chef if needed, in order to provide customers with all the information needed to make their selections.
• Inputdata into POS system as applicable.
• Assist in filling out paper meal tickets as applicable.
• Maintaincleanliness of dining rooms by mopping, dusting, etc.
• Clean, maintain and restocksnack stations throughout the workday and at the end of the shift.
• Transport dirty dishes to the main kitchen for the dishwasher to clean/transport clean dishes back to the skilled nursing unit.

QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Able to lift items up to 25lb.
• Must be able to lift and move tables and chairs, boxes and other containers.
• Must be able to move arms and hands in various directions to clean tables and workstations.
• Able to tolerate long periods of walking, bending, stooping and standing.
• Maintain a current State of Illinois Sanitation Licensed/Food Handlers (This can be provided by The Garlands).
• C.N.A. licenseor in the process of completing aC.N.A. program a plus
• The ability to learn and use the computerized ordering and billing system.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Conversational English required.
