Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a School Staff Nurse to provide health services to students in our partner districts. This PRN daily float position requires flexibility with hours and a commitment to care across multiple schools.

Responsibilities include delivering routine and emergency care, maintaining health records, supporting educational health initiatives, and communicating with families and school staff.

Qualifications

• BSN required or to be obtained within 5 years of hire.
• BLS certification required; RN licensure required.
• 1–2 years of relevant healthcare experience preferred; school setting preferred.
• Experience in a school setting is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software required.

Responsibilities

• Provide school health services as directed by department and contracts.
• Deliver routine, special needs and emergency first aid.
• Maintain student health records and document services rendered.
• Participate in educational efforts of the department and hospital.
• Communicate effectively with management, parents/guardians, school authorities, and allied personnel.
• Demonstrate care for physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of students served.
• Adhere to department, school, State and Federal policies and HR guidelines.
