Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a part-time School Staff Nurse to provide school health services to students. The role is 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday while school is in session, onsite at a partner school.

Responsibilities include delivering routine and emergency care, maintaining health records, and supporting educational efforts with hospital staff and parents. Requirements: BSN or near completion within five years, RN license, BLS, and at least one year of healthcare

Qualifications

BSN degree required or must be obtained within 5 years of hire.
RN licensure required.
BLS certification required.
Minimum of one year experience in healthcare is required; 1–2 years in relevant settings preferred.
Experience in pediatric nursing preferred; school setting experience preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software required.

Responsibilities

Provide school health services as directed by department and contracts.
Deliver clinical care including routine, special needs, and emergency first aid.
Maintain appropriate student health records and document services rendered.
Participate in educational efforts of the department and hospital.
Communicate effectively with management, parents/guardians, school authorities, and allied personnel.
Demonstrate knowledge and skills to care for patients of all ages and needs.
Abide by department/school/state and federal policies and guidelines.
Perform other duties as required.
