Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for Alleghany County Memorial Hospital in Sparta, NC. This PRN, as-needed role requires NBRC-registered RRT and NC licensure, with BLS and timely ACLS/PALSNRP certifications within 90 days.

The position involves providing respiratory therapies, initiating ventilation, and maintaining patient safety per age-appropriate care standards. It offers varied shifts and is based in a hospital setting with a comprehensive benefits program.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved two or four-year program for respiratory care or NBRC eligibility (registry examinations).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC and NC license to practice as an RCP in NC required.
• BLS required. PALS/NRP within 90 days; ACLS within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provides respiratory therapies following age-appropriate standards and departmental policies.
• Initiates and maintains mechanical ventilation and airway support.
• Reports routine clinical procedures to relief personnel to ensure continuity of care.
• Performs competency for point-of-care testing and ensures compliance with hospital policies and state/federal regulations.
• Maintains patient safety through invasive and non-invasive monitoring and ongoing professional development.
