Job summary

Lifepoint Health's Harris Regional Hospital in North Carolina seeks a Respiratory Therapist to join our team in a PRN, variable schedule. The role focuses on delivering respiratory care, monitoring patient responses, and educating patients and families within a comprehensive care setting.

Applicants should be a graduate of a Respiratory Therapy program and a registered Respiratory Therapist with BLS; ACLS/PALS within required timelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of Respiratory Therapy and registered Respiratory Therapist.
• BLS within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.
• ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.
• Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care; monitors and communicates patient condition.
• Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes and best practices.
• Responds to codes and emergent calls; delivers appropriate treatment.
• Educates patients and families about illness and community resources.
• Monitors and distributes respiratory care supplies and cylinders; maintains storage areas.
• Disassembles, cleans and sterilizes equipment; performs maintenance and calibration.
