Job summary

LiveWell Homecare Agency is seeking a Respiratory Therapist III to deliver advanced respiratory care in critical care settings. You will independently manage ventilators, perform airway procedures, and interpret arterial blood gases while addressing patient needs and collaborating with the care team.

The role requires strong communication, critical thinking, and clinical expertise, with a focus on safety, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• License/certifications including RCP, NBRC-RRT, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP upon hire.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience in critical care (ICU, CVICU, BURN, NICU, ED).
• Strong communication, critical thinking, assessment, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care through assessments, therapy planning, and collaboration with healthcare teams.
• Administer aerosolized medications, manage ventilators, perform airway procedures, and analyze arterial blood gases.
• Educate patients, families, peers, and students to ensure understanding and support.
• Ensure safety and quality by promoting accurate documentation and adherence to protocols; participate in performance improvement.
• Support invasive/non-invasive procedures, pulmonary testing, and cardiac services as needed.

Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist III provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessments in critical care settings. They independently manage ventilators, perform airway procedures, and interpret diagnostic tests while addressing the biological, emotional, and psychosocial needs of diverse patient populations. They actively participate in quality improvement projects, promote evidence-based practices, and serve as preceptors for new staff and students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality patient care through assessments, therapy planning, and collaboration with healthcare teams.
• Administer aerosolized medications, manage ventilators, perform airway procedures, and analyze arterial blood gases.
• Educate patients, families, peers, and students to ensure comprehensive understanding and support.
• Ensure safety and quality by promoting accurate documentation, adherence to protocols, and participation in performance improvement initiatives.
• Support invasive and non-invasive procedures, pulmonary testing, and cardiac services as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• Licenses/certifications including RCP, NBRC-RRT, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP (or equivalent), all required upon hire.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience in critical care areas such as ICU, CVICU, BURN, NICU, or Emergency Departments.
