Job summary

National EMR seeks trained respiratory therapists to serve as reservists who may be deployed on short notice to support emergency and disaster response efforts. The role involves clinical care, testing, and treatment of clients, with payments based on actual hours worked during deployments.

Reservists must meet certification and experience requirements, be prepared to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and maintain readiness for rapid deployment in mass-casualty and other incidents.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduation from accredited Respiratory Therapist Program is required.
• Current CRT certificate is required; cannot be barred from working in any state.
• Preferred: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Three (3) years’ experience as a respiratory therapist is required.
• Pediatric and adult respiratory therapy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to National EMR Policies and Procedures Manual, Uniform Handbook, and Operations Manual.
• Foster a culture that encourages team members to work safely and report safety concerns.
• Maintain active status within learning management systems and complete required training.
• Administer respiratory tests and treatments to clients.
• Clean and sterilize respiratory therapy equipment and perform maintenance.
• Communicate with physicians, RNs, LVNs, and Pharmacy staff as needed.
• Assist with updating respiratory protocols and procedures in collaboration with Medical Services Division.
• Interact with RN Manager/Clinic Director on policy and procedure issues.
• Meet patients' goals by conducting pulmonary function tests and determining treatment plans.
• Administer inhalants and operate ventilators and related equipment.
• Evaluate effects of treatment and adjust as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
