Job summary

Boulder Centre for Orthopedics & Spine in Boulder, CO is seeking a part-time PACU and Pre-Operative RN to provide high-quality care through pre-operative assessment and post-operative monitoring. The role supports our orthopedic surgery center with compassionate, collaborative patient care.

You will assess patients prior to surgery, verify consents, initiate IVs, monitor vitals, document findings, and assist during postoperative emergencies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Nursing; Bachelors preferred.
• Colorado Registered Nurse license required.
• BCLS and ACLS certification required.
• PALS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, instruct & prepare patients prior to surgery.
• Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and correct.
• Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure.
• Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about procedure.
• Assess patients’ post-operative condition.

Essential Duties

• Assess, instruct & prepare patients prior to surgery


• Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and correct


• Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure


• Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about procedure


• Assess patients’ post-operative condition


• Monitor vital signs and other measurements of progress, meeting discharge criteria


• Log all findings in patient files


• Answer patient questions and ensure patient comfort


• Monitor patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physician


• Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies

Experience Required

• 2 year of Pre-Op/PACU (RN) experience in an Orthopedic setting preferred.


• Acute Care: 1 year (Preferred)

Education/Certification Requirements

• Degree in Nursing: Bachelors Preferred


• Current Colorado Registered Nurse license


• BCLS & ACLS certification required.


• PALS certification
