Job summary

The Indiana State Police seeks a temporary PRN dispatch professional to receive, collate, record, and disseminate information to police personnel and partner agencies using CAD, RMS, AVL, GIS, and related systems. On-call shifts across multiple districts ensure rapid response to incidents and emergencies statewide.

Responsibilities include coordinating emergency and non-emergency traffic, processing IDACS/NLETS/NCIC data, and providing EMS self-help while units are en route.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED
• Must pass Department typing test
• Must pass Dispatch Simulation test
• EMT certification preferred
• Must become certified and maintain TDD/TTY operator status
• Must become certified or provide proof of CPR and Emergency Medical Dispatch

Responsibilities

• Receive, collate, record, disseminate, and dispatch information using CAD, RMS, AVL, GIS and other resources
• Provide dispatch support to Regional Dispatch Centers statewide as needed for disasters or emergencies
• Coordinate emergency and non-emergency traffic with Department personnel and other public safety agencies
• Provide emergency medical self-help to citizens while EMS units are en route
• Process IDACS, NLETS and NCIC information to meet guidelines
