Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Combination of education and relevant work experience may be accepted.
• BLS certification within 60 days of hire; there is a 60-day window to renew expired BLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Insurance verification and patient information about billing and hospital programs.
• Responds to patients during admission processes; collects deductible and co-pays as applicable.
• Prepares and processes patient accounts with insurance companies; maintains patient records.
• Addresses billing inquiries and liaises between insurance companies and patients.
• Performs clerical duties including filing, typing, and record storage.
• Supports teamwork with ancillary departments and other Business Office staff.
• Performs receptionist, registration, and clerical duties for admissions.
• Handles phone queries, walk-ins, and patient concerns.
• Completes daily deposits and maintains cash drawer; assists with billing and information provision.
