Job summary

Wellstar is seeking a Radiology Technologist for a PRN, variable schedule position in Georgia. The role involves operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and delivering high-quality diagnostic studies as part of a collaborative care team.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. ARRT-R certification and BLS are required; experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Experience: Experience preferred, not required.
• Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography) and BLS.

Responsibilities

• Operate imaging/radiographic equipment safely and competently, adjusting technique to maintain diagnostic quality.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain rooms/equipment per infection control schedules.
• Obtain clinical history and screen for contraindications; verify orders and two identifiers.
• Explain procedures, prep, and post-care using AIDET; address questions and reduce patient anxiety.
• Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care.
• Perform exams and administer contrast per protocol; venipuncture and sterile technique as needed.
• Review images for diagnostic acceptability; repeat/correct as needed and release patients.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation in RIS/PACS.
• Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, maintain crash cart and life-support equipment.
• Organize daily workflow to meet timeframes; support department flow.
