Job Title: Radiologic Technologist - Special Procedures

Entity: CCH

Location: Chester County Hospital - 701 E Marshall St, West Chester, PA 19380

Hours: 0.01 FTE (PRN), Day Shift

Position Summary:

  • Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs patient services utilizing digital radiographic equipment. Performs diagnostic angiographic procedures, complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures. Interventional technologists must maintain a high degree of accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure technique. S/he must maintain knowledge of radiation safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs all necessary preparations related to Interventional Radiology Procedures.
  • Obtains patient history, explains procedures, and addresses patient concerns as demonstrated by documentation and feedback.
  • Performs all necessary checks of diagnosis, prescription, Sorian order, and patient identification as demonstrated by documentation.
  • Performs Interventional Radiology procedures following appropriate imaging protocols under the direction of the Interventional radiologist.
  • Compiles and reviews images, and prepares for radiologist review.
  • Reviews all diagnostic and therapeutic data for completeness and accuracy.
  • Secures a safe and sterile environment for patients and staff.
  • Integrates principles of infection control & infection prevention into practice.
  • Stocks supplies and assures the cleanliness of the department.
  • Responsible for Interventional radiology scheduling.
  • Participates in in-service education regarding equipment, supplies, and procedures.
  • Adheres to institutional research and investigational guidelines including: informed consent, patient rights, data collection, and billing requirements.
  • Performs as a team player – displays consideration for the needs of others and work objectives.
  • Follows hospital and departmental policies.

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • Satisfactory completion of an accredited radiologic technology program resulting in a two-year certificate and/or associate degree or four-year baccalaureate degree.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program resulting in a two-year certificate, associate degree, or four-year baccalaureate degree (Required).
  • 1 year experience as an Interventional radiology technologist (Required).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) card (Required).
  • Advanced examination in Vascular Interventional technology (Preferred).
