Job Title: Radiologic Technologist

Location: Chester County Hospital - 701 E Marshall St, West Chester, PA 19380

Hours: 0.01 FTE (PRN), Day Shift

Position Summary:

• Under the direction of a radiologist, performs high-quality diagnostic imaging examinations using ingenuity, initiative, and independent judgment of patients in a safe and timely manner, as ordered by physicians.
• Must follow physicians’ orders precisely, maintaining a high degree of accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure, and conform to regulations concerning the use of radiation to protect themselves, their patients, and their co-workers from unnecessary exposure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs all necessary preparations related to general diagnostic procedures.
• Obtains patient history, explains the procedure, gains consent for contrast material administration, and addresses any patient concerns prior to beginning the procedure.
• Performs all necessary checks for accuracy of the prescription, precertification/authorization if required by individual insurance companies, EPIC / Radiant order, and patient identification.
• Performs procedures following appropriate imaging protocols, considering patient age and safety tools for shielding and dose reduction.
• Compiles and reviews images, provides applicable comparison studies, and prepares documentation for interpretation.
• Performs quality control testing as required.
• Maintains and performs routine maintenance on equipment; stocks and replenishes supplies as needed.
• Proficient in departmental and hospital information technologies such as RIS, PACS, EPIC, and related areas.

Education, Training, and Experience:

• Satisfactory completion of an accredited radiologic technology program resulting in a two-year certificate and/or associate degree or a four-year baccalaureate degree.

Licensure/Certification:

• Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• New graduates that are board eligible have six months after the date of hire to obtain a license.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
