Job summary

Cardinal Health Mojave Radiation Oncology Center in Apple Valley, CA seeks a PRN Radiation Therapist II to administer prescribed doses using a linear accelerator. This is an in-person, part-time role supporting high-volume patient care and on-call coverage.

You will verify treatment details, ensure safety standards, maintain accurate charts, collaborate with oncologists and therapy team, and uphold Cardinal Health's commitments to patient-centered care and ethical practice.

Qualifications

• ARRT Board eligible, preferred
• Bachelor's Degree in science, or equivalent experience, preferred
• Graduate of an accredited school of radiation therapy technology
• Certification in Radiation Therapy Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist
• Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed

Responsibilities

• Administer radiation therapy as prescribed by the physician
• Verify prescribed treatment dose before each treatment; verify fields and angles
• Ensure placement of protective devices to shield healthy tissue
• Simulate patients using CT or other devices to localize treatment areas
• Maintain accurate treatment chart documentation
• Observe patient progress and report signs of complications
• Adhere to radiation safety procedure protocol
• Perform machine safety checks and report issues to Center Leader
• Collaborate with Radiation Oncologist and therapy team on treatment plans
• Attend to on-call responsibilities and meet reporting deadlines
