Job summary

Novant Health's Weisiger Cancer Institute in Charlotte is seeking a PRN Physicist II to support clinical operations in our radiation oncology departments, with coverage for staff vacations and occasional remote work. The role involves collaboration with dosimetrists, physicians and therapy staff to ensure safe delivery of radiation therapy.

The ideal candidate will have a CAMPEP‑accredited medical physics education and ABR/ABMP certification, with a minimum of 3 years in radiation oncology

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Medical Physics and CAMPEP accredited Residency required.
• Certification in therapeutic medical physics from ABR or ABMP preferred/required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in radiation oncology physics.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert knowledge of radiation properties, treatment planning and delivery.
• Advise dosimetrists and physicians on safe delivery of therapy.
• Perform/oversee quality assurance procedures for radiation equipment and treatment delivery.
• Mentor Physicist I and participate in weekly chart checks and patient simulations.
