Job summary

The University of North Carolina is seeking a clinical radiation therapy physicist to provide services at two locations: UNC Cancer Hospital in Chapel Hill and UNC Cancer Care Center at Rockingham (Eden, NC). This full-time position is shared with another physicist and reports to the Radiation Oncology department.

Minimum qualifications include an MS or PhD in Medical Physics/Physics/Engineering and ABR board eligibility or certification.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Medical Physics/Physics/Engineering or related field.
• ABR board-eligible or board-certified in Therapeutic Medical Physics.

Responsibilities

• Provide part-time clinical radiation therapy physics services for two facilities, totaling a full-time workload.
• Support IMRT/VMAT, IGRT, SBRT, SRS and brachytherapy programs with QA and chart checks.
• Oversee junior staff during equipment acceptance, commissioning and dosimetry data collection.
• Ensure precise delivery of treatment plans and maintain patient and staff safety.
