Job summary

Novant Health Cancer Institute – New Hanover Medical Center in Wilmington, NC seeks a board-certified Physicist III to lead the brachytherapy program and direct clinical physics operations.

The role includes building a state-of-the-art brachytherapy suite, mentoring residents, and collaborating with physicians to advance treatment planning and QA. Relocation assistance and a $20K sign-on are offered, along with ongoing professional development and research opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Medical Physics; CAMPEP-accredited residency.
• 5 years of experience in radiation oncology physics; 7 years preferred.
• ABR or ABMP certification in therapeutic medical physics required.
• Experience in leading teams, project management, and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Lead Brachytherapy Physicist role and direct clinical physics operations for the brachytherapy program.
• Train and mentor residents; develop clinical projects.
• Support QA, safety, and compliance; participate in chart checks and performance of QA procedures.
