Job summary

Amarillo Center for Skilled Care is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our in-house rehab team on a PRN basis. You will help residents improve mobility, strength, and overall quality of life under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.

The ideal candidate holds an active Texas PTA license in good standing, with SNF or long-term care exposure and familiarity with Net Health documentation. We value teamwork and clear communication to support best patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Active Texas Physical Therapy Assistant license in good standing.
• SNF or long-term care experience preferred.
• Current knowledge of physical therapy treatment practices.
• Experience with Net Health Electronic Documentation System is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain, improve or restore function, and promote healing.
• Provide skilled physical therapy services and interventions under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Respond to requests for service by relaying information and referrals to the Physical Therapist.
• Implement and modify patients' physical therapy plans of care under PT supervision.
• Measure and record patients' motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Monitor patient response to treatment interventions and modify approaches as clinically appropriate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide clinical support and education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
• Ensure documentation is completed thoroughly and timely in compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations.
• Attend required meetings as designated by the Director of Rehab.
