Job summary

Medford Multicare in Medford, NY is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a PRN opportunity. The PTA will provide hands-on rehabilitation services to residents to improve mobility, strength, and overall function under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

The position offers flexible PRN scheduling, a collaborative rehabilitation environment, and opportunities to expand clinical experience with a short-term and long-term care caseload.

Qualifications

• Active New York Physical Therapist Assistant license required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to providing quality, resident-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist residents with strengthening, balance, gait training, transfers, endurance, and mobility exercises.
• Carry out individualized treatment programs established by the supervising PT.
• Monitor resident response to treatment and communicate progress to the therapy team.
• Reinforce safe movement techniques and therapeutic exercises.
• Complete accurate and timely treatment documentation.
• Collaborate with rehabilitation staff and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
