Post Rehabilitation Services seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join Medford Multicare in Medford, NY. This full-time role focuses on helping residents improve mobility, build strength, and gain greater independence during rehabilitation.
The PTA will work under a licensed PT, perform gait training and therapeutic exercises, document progress, and collaborate with the rehab team. NY license required; new grads are welcome.
Qualifications
- Active New York PTA license required.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to resident-centered care.
- New graduate PTAs are welcome to apply.
- Experience in skilled nursing or post-acute rehabilitation preferred but not required.
Responsabilités
- Provide skilled physical therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed PT.
- Assist residents with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance, transfers, strengthening, and mobility activities.
- Carry out individualized treatment plans established by supervising PT.
- Monitor resident response to therapy and communicate progress or changes to the PT.
- Reinforce safe movement techniques and therapeutic strategies.
- Complete accurate and timely treatment documentation.
- Collaborate with the rehabilitation team and other healthcare professionals to support resident goals.
