Job summary

Mercy is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join the rehabilitation team. The PTA works under the supervision of the Manager of Therapy Services and assists in rehabilitative activities to help reduce pain and improve mobility.

This PRN role offers flexibility to support patient care and recovery goals. In this position, you will collaborate with Physical Therapists to implement treatment plans, guide patients through exercises, and help with evaluations and progressions

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Associate's degree required.
• Current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the applicable state; LPTA.
• BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Experience: Less than one year preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply.
• Preferred: One to two years of Physical Therapy experience.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Physical Therapists to implement individualized treatment plans.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and mobility activities.
• Assist with patient evaluations, functional testing, and treatment progression.
• Educate and motivate patients throughout their rehabilitation journey.
• Help create a positive, patient-centered experience focused on achieving goals and improving quality of life.
