Job summary

Meridian Health Services is seeking a PRN Psychiatric Technician for our Riverbend Hospital in West Lafayette, Indiana. The position supports 7am-7pm hours as needed, assisting with ADLs, monitoring vital signs, and promoting the safety and well-being of clients.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team to implement treatment plans, observe client behavior, and document progress in the electronic health record. A high school diploma and basic clinical skills are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited high school or its equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age at completion of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Attends to client's personal needs on Units (phone calls, clothing, laundry, exercise, etc.)
• Initiates and assists in client ADL's.
• Encourages and engages clients in treatment, social, leisure, and recreational activities
• Utilizes therapeutic skills in interactions with clients, families, and visitors
• Keeps clients informed of their treatment plan objectives and progress
• Demonstrates competency in taking vital signs, obtaining urine specimens, assisting with nursing tasks under Unit Nurse directions
• Communicates in a respectful, clear, and direct manner with all Hospital staff, clients, and visitors
• Documents vital signs, height, weight, participation in electronic health record of assigned patients efficiently and in a timely manner
