Job summary

Meridian Health Services is seeking a Full-time Psychiatric Technician for our Riverbend Hospital located in West Lafayette, Indiana. This role requires working three 12-hour shifts from 7pm to 7am with a weekend rotation.

You will attend to clients' personal needs, assist with ADLs, and engage them in treatment activities while monitoring vital signs and documenting progress in the electronic health record. Maintain safety, follow care plans, and support a therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited high school or its equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age at completion of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Attends to client's personal needs on Units (phone calls, clothing, laundry, exercise, etc.).
• Initiates and assists in client ADL's.
• Encourages and engages clients in treatment, social, leisure, and recreational activities.
• Utilizes therapeutic skills in interactions with clients, families, and visitors.
• Keeps clients informed of their treatment plan objectives and progress.
• Able to set therapeutic guidelines with clients for disruptive behaviors.
• Demonstrates competency in taking vital signs and assisting with nursing tasks.
• Documents detailed observations and interventions in the electronic health record.
• Maintains unit supplies, cleanliness, and routines.
• Participates in activity therapy sessions on Units.
• Maintains confidentiality and observes safety protocols.
