Job summary

Bristol Ambulatory Surgery Center is hiring a PRN PreOp PACU RN to provide continuous, high-quality nursing care for patients emerging from anesthesia. You will ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy while supporting the surgical team with conscious sedation and sterile technique as needed.

The role requires an accredited RN program graduate, an active Tennessee RN license, and BLS/ACLS (PALS if required).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of PACU or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the patient and family in preparation for discharge.
• May assist physicians in procedure rooms with conscious sedation and sterile techniques.

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
• Active RN license in the state
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
