Job summary

Bristol Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking a FT PreOp PACU RN to deliver continuous, high-quality nursing care for patients before and after anesthesia, prioritizing safety, comfort, and privacy. The RN may assist physicians in procedure rooms, using sterile techniques throughout the perioperative period.

The role emphasizes assessment, planning, and evaluation for discharge readiness, with a focus on teamwork and patient-family communication. Active RN license in TN is required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
  • Active RN license in the state.
  • BLS and ACLS required, PALS if required by the center.
  • 2 years of PACU/CCU experience preferred.
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide continuity and quality nursing care for patients before and after anesthesia.
  • Support physicians in procedure rooms with tasks including conscious sedation and sterile technique.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient and family care in preparation for discharge.

Bristol Ambulatory Surgery Center is hiring a FT PreOp PACU RN!

Welcome to Bristol Ambulatory Surgery Center, where exceptional care meets innovation, and health and care are truly inseparable!

The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
  • Active RN license in the state
  • BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
  • 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
  • Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
