Job summary

Carolina Surgical Center at Piedmont is hiring a Pre OP PACU RN (PRN). The RN provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of condition, ensuring safety and comfort from emergence to discharge.

Roles include assisting physicians in procedure rooms and performing tasks with conscious sedation as appropriate. Qualifications include RN license in the state, BLS/ACLS (PALS if required), and 2 years PACU/CCU experience preferred, with strong decision-making

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients emerging from general anesthesia or sedation, with continual evaluation of the patient’s condition.
• May assist physicians in procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate.
• Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.
