Job summary

Ambercare Homecare in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a motivated Physical Therapist Assistant for PRN, 3 days per week with 15-18 visits weekly. The role focuses on delivering direct PT services under supervision and enabling patients to regain function in home settings.

You will perform exercises, gait training, and modality applications, document progress, and collaborate with the supervising PT and nursing leadership to optimize care. A valid NM PTA license and CPR certification are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program with a program approved by the APTA.
• Active licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in NM.
• CPR certification current.
• Minimum 1 year PTA experience preferred.
• Ability to perform home visits and transport.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct PT assistance under supervision according to plan of care.
• Assist patients to relieve pain and restore function.
• Lead and assist patients in therapeutic exercises and gait training.
• Administer non-complex modalities as directed.
• Instruct and motivate patients in functional activities.
• Document progress and report to supervising PT.
• Prepare clinical notes and progress reports for the record.
• Notify supervisor of any changes in patient condition.
