Job summary

Ambercare Homecare in Santa Fe, NM is seeking a Part-Time Physical Therapist Assistant to join our growing team. You will provide direct physical therapy under the guidance of a licensed PT in the home setting, focusing on pain relief, function restoration, and patient education.

Maintain treatment records, perform therapeutic modalities, and collaborate with the therapy team to ensure quality care. Must have PTA license and CPR, with reliable transportation for home visits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program with an Associate’s degree approved by APTA.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of practice.
• At least one year of PTA experience (preferred).
• CPR certification current.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical therapy under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist according to the plan of care.
• Treat patients to relieve pain, restore function, and maintain maximum performance.
• Lead active and passive therapeutic exercises, gait and functional training, and transfer techniques.
• Administer modalities (heat, cold, electrical stimulation, massage) as appropriate.
• Instruct and assist clients in learning functional activities and home exercises.
• Observe patient progress and report changes to the supervising PT.
