Job summary

Ambercare Homecare in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our growing home health team. This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday schedule from 8am to 5pm with patient-focused care.

You will perform direct PT under supervision, support patients in activities of daily living, and document progress. A PTA degree, state licensure, CPR, and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program with an Associate’s degree in science or applied science approved by APTA.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the practicing state.
• At least one year of PTA experience (preferred).
• CPR certification current.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical therapy under the direction of a licensed PT, per plan of care.
• Treat patients to relieve pain, restore function, and maintain max performance.
• Assist in therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional activities.
• Administer non-complex modalities and assist with documentation in the clinical record.
• Instruct and motivate patients in learning functional activities.
• Observe progress and report findings to the supervising PT.
• Prepare clinical notes and progress reports for the patient record.
• Report changes in patient condition to the supervising PT and director as needed.
• Instruct patients on use of mobility aids and devices.
