Job summary

Texas Health Denton is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant - PRN to join our laboratory team in Denton, TX. This role involves phlebotomy procedures, specimen collection, labeling, and supporting lab colleagues to ensure timely patient care.

The position requires a high school diploma and healthcare experience; ASCP phlebotomy tech certification is preferred. PRN shifts are 12 hours, with benefits-related perks for Texas Health employees.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required. (Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency is required. CLIAFE)
• Six (6) months experience as a phlebotomist or completion of a one semester course in phlebotomy is highly preferred.
• PBT(ASCP) - Phlebotomy Technician is preferred upon hire.
• Customer Service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• For those entities performing phlebotomy; employee follows laboratory procedure for specimen collection, patient identification and labeling as appropriate for the age of the patient
• Performs procedures in other areas of the Laboratory as required by hospital entity
• Reports and evaluates test results
• Helps other hospital and laboratory coworkers to provide timely patient care
