Job summary

Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center - Lab is seeking a Phlebotomist II for a PRN/part-time position in Rome, GA. The role involves drawing blood from patients of all ages, labeling specimens, and ensuring timely processing within the Floyd lab network.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, formal phlebotomy training, and at least one year of experience. Licensing by PBT (ASCP) or equivalent preferred; patient safety and accuracy are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a formal phlebotomy training program.
• Completion of departmental clinical evaluation checklist.

Responsibilities

• Consistently obtains high quality specimens by venipuncture.
• Performs special procedures as needed.
• Consistently obtains high quality specimens by capillary procedure.
• Collects blood cultures with contamination rate below established goal.
• Collects timed specimens appropriately.
• Establishes positive patient identification.
• Follows all Continuous Quality Improvement standards.
• Correctly logs collection and times into the lab system.
