Job summary

Cencora is launching a new pharmacy location in Sterling, Illinois and hiring PRN Pharmacy Technicians to support the opening and ongoing operations.

Responsibilities include creating patient profiles, entering prescription plan data, handling insurance questions, processing prescriptions, and assisting pharmacists with therapeutic consults. You will also manage inventory, handle calls, and ensure accurate adjudication of claims while delivering strong customer service.

Qualifications

• Two years ambulatory pharmacy experience; bachelor's preferred.
• Pharmacy technician certification (PTCB or national cert) required.
• State certification acceptable if equivalent to national cert.

Responsibilities

• Create patient profiles in the pharmacy system.
• Enter prescription plan information for processing.
• Enter new patient prescription information in the system.
• Address insurance, reimbursement, and payment issues with providers, patients and pharmacists.
• Contribute to Ambulatory Pharmacy metrics and goals.
• Retrieve and prepare medications for pharmacist review.
• Prepare inventory reports for purchasing.
• Submit and stock inventory.
• Answer calls and triage appropriately.
• Assist with adjudicated claims reviews for reimbursement.
• Assist pharmacist with therapeutic consults.
• Resolve adjudication issues with PBMs.
