Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for a PCU/Telemetry unit. This PRN position involves providing compassionate patient care in a 22-bed unit with an RN-to-patient ratio of 1:5, using advanced cardiac monitoring to support patients with respiratory and cardiac conditions.

Applicants must hold an active NC CNA license, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina CNA listing with the state DFS
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• AHA BLS certification required
• Critical thinking and decisive judgment with ability to work with minimal supervision
• Capability to work in a high-stress environment

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs and recording intake/output
• Assist patients with activities of daily living
• Report abnormal findings to nursing staff
• Keep patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly
