Job summary

St. David's Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Patient Registrar Float PRN to support patient intake and ensure accurate registration.

The role interviews patients, verifies insurance, collects demographics and payment information, and collaborates with care teams to expedite admission processes. The PRN position offers flexible scheduling and opportunities to contribute to smooth patient flow while delivering excellent service.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients at workstations or bedside to obtain necessary account information.
• Provide exemplary customer service.
• Ensure charts are completed and accurate.
• Verify insurance and obtain pre-certification/authorization.
• Calculate and collect patient liability amounts.
• Ensure that all necessary signatures are obtained for treatment.
• Process patient charts according to paperwork flow needs and productivity standards.
• Interview incoming patients and contacts to obtain identifying and demographic information with insurance and financial details.
• Assign Insurance Plans (IPlans) accurately.
• Verify insurance benefits and determine pre-certification/authorization status and initiate if required.
• Secure signatures for treatments and release of information; collect IDs and insurance cards.
• Explain policies regarding services, pricing, insurance billing, and payment of accounts.
