Job summary

Qualifications

• Mature judgement when dealing with patients, physicians, and insurance representatives.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft programs and familiarity with database programs.
• Ability to operate general office machines (computer, fax, printer, scanner).
• Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks and organize work efficiently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule: PRN (as needed), 7:30am-4pm with rotating weekend and holidays.
• Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue Advance Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage as needed.
• Create accurate estimates for patient financial responsibility and collect payments or set up payment plans.
• Coordinate with utilization management staff for pre-authorization issues and ensure patients have necessary information.
• Contact insurance companies to verify eligibility and benefits, and obtain pre-authorizations within timeframes.
• Register patients for all services, ensuring accuracy and minimizing duplication of medical records.
