Job summary

Tallahassee Plastic Surgery Clinic seeks a PRN PACU Nurse to care for patients recovering from anesthesia in a specialized outpatient setting in Tallahassee, FL.

The PACU nurse will monitor vitals, manage pain, watch for complications, assist with airway management, and document care according to hospital protocols.

Minimum qualifications include ADN/BSN, RN license in Florida, BLS, CPAN; ACLS may be required; 2–3 years PACU or surgical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment (Florida).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certified Post-Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required.
• 2–3 years of PACU or surgical nursing experience; plastic surgery, dermatology, or cosmetic surgery setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Post-anesthesia monitoring and vital signs assessment during recovery.
• Pain management and relief after procedures.
• Observation for bleeding, hematoma, and other complications.
• Airway management and responsive interventions after sedation.
• Wound care, dressings, and drain assessment.
• Documentation of care and patient progress in compliance with protocols.
