Job summary

Retreat Doctors Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Pediatric Occupational Therapist for PRN outpatient roles in Virginia. You will assess children, develop customized therapy plans, and provide hands-on treatment to restore function and independence.

• Graduate of an AOTA accredited School of Occupational Therapy.
• AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification required.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and develop individualized therapy plans with physicians and the care team.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions to promote healing, independence, and quality of life.
• Monitor progress, adjust plans as needed, and document thoroughly to reflect quality outcomes.
• Educate patients and families to build understanding and engagement during recovery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to ensure safe transitions of care and excellent patient experiences.
• Provide supervision to students or therapy assistants as needed.
• Comply with hospital policies and professional standards.

Your role will include:

What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION:

• Graduate of an AOTA accredited School of Occupational Therapy
• AHA Healthcare Provider
• CPR

LICENSURE:

• Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Virginia

EXPERIENCE:

• Previous outpatient pediatric and/or early intervention experience preferred; new graduates with relevant field work will be considered

ESSENTIAL: Includes all practice and performance standards designated on the performance appraisal form unless otherwise indicated
