Job summary

Bakersfield Post Acute in Bakersfield, CA is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) for a PRN position in a skilled nursing/short-term rehab setting. The OT will evaluate and treat residents, communicate with families and the interdisciplinary team, and ensure accurate documentation in the medical record.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
• Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy is preferred.
• Experience in Skilled Nursing Facility or geriatric settings is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents within 24 hours of referral and document delays.
• Develop and obtain physician approval for treatment plans.
• Treat residents per defined plan of care and document progress.
• Supervise COTAs, aides, and students per state act requirements.
• Educate staff and families on maintenance programs and discharge planning.
• Participate in care conferences and rehab meetings as needed.
