Job summary

West Oaks Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Austin, TX is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapy Assistant to join an in-house rehab program serving geriatric patients. The OTA will conduct screenings, develop and implement care plans, and contribute to comprehensive rehabilitation services.

Qualifications

• OTA license required and in good standing.
• Open to new grads and therapists at all experience levels.
• Ability to perform patient care tasks and assist with plan of care.

Responsibilities

• Screen and evaluate patients with physical functioning disorders and/or wounds.
• Deliver rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatments.
• Assist with transfers, ambulation, and exercises as per plan.
• Administer procedures including manual techniques, wound care, and modalities.
• Provide counseling to patients and families about physical disorders.
• Generate discharge summaries compliant with regulatory requirements.
