Job summary

Life Care Centers of America in Sierra Vista, AZ is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide direct rehab care under the supervision of an OT. You will contribute to skilled nursing and sub-acute rehabilitation within an interdisciplinary team, helping patients achieve functional progress in a patient-centered environment.

The role requires NBCOT certification, state licensure, and CPR. New grads welcome; previous SNF experience preferred.

Qualifications

• NBCOT certified upon hire; renewal optional
• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (ASOT)
• Currently registered/licensed in applicable State; active license required
• One year experience preferred; new grads welcome to apply
• CPR certification upon hire or during orientation; must remain current

Responsibilities

• Participates in community health matters/projects as appropriate
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
• Liaisons with patients, families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for patient needs
• Demonstrate good body mechanics at all times
• Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
• Knowledgeable of practices and procedures governing post-acute care facility
• Implement and interpret department programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures
• Perform proficiently in all competency areas including patient rights, safety and sanitation
• Maintain professional relationships with associates and vendors
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
• Follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
• Display integrity and professionalism per Life Care Code of Conduct
