Job summary

Legacy Lifecare Hospice and VNA is seeking a part-time Occupational Therapist (OT) to support resident care on a PRN basis in a hospice and VNA setting. The role offers a per-visit compensation of $90 with flexible scheduling and no weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities include evaluating residents, creating personalized ADL-focused plans, and collaborating with the care team to ensure safe, effective therapy and regulatory compliance. Strong communication in English is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program.
• Current, active MA Occupational Therapist license.
• Minimum 1-year experience, preferable in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to communicate fluently in English – both verbally and written.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents and develop individualized treatment plans to improve independence, functional abilities, and quality of life.
• Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions to enhance ADLs, upper extremity function, mobility, balance, and safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation team members, and families to establish goals and deliver coordinated care.
• Recommend and train residents and caregivers in the use of adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, and fall prevention strategies to promote safe, independent living.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation, monitor resident progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain compliance with regulatory and facility standards.
