Job summary

BrightStar Care in Irving, TX is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist to provide one-on-one OT services in patients' homes across the Irving area.

You will develop individualized treatment plans to promote independence, safety, and mobility, collaborate with families and the clinical team, and document visits in compliance with regulatory requirements. Hours are flexible and visits are scheduled based on patient needs.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Texas Occupational Therapist license.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your schedule effectively.
• Proficiency in English.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to patients’ homes throughout the service area.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ functional abilities, limitations, and needs related to ADLs.
• Develop individualized OT treatment plans based on each patient’s goals and needs.
• Provide therapeutic interventions to improve independence, safety, mobility, and quality of life.
• Assist patients with ADLs and IADLs.
• Recommend adaptive equipment, techniques, and environmental modifications.
• Educate patients and caregivers on safety strategies, exercises, and techniques.
• Monitor progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
• Document visits accurately and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, caregivers, and the multidisciplinary care team.
• Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and professional standards.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care in the home environment.
• Accept visits based on availability and patient needs.
