Job summary

Armor Health is seeking a PRN Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Lackawanna County Prison in Scranton, PA. You will provide primary care under indirect supervision to a specified patient population in a correctional setting.

Candidates must hold an NP license, CPR certification, EMR proficiency, and at least two years of NP experience; ACLS preferred. You will examine patients, diagnose, treat, prescribe, and collaborate to develop care plans while complying with background checks and health

• Current NP license or eligibility to practice.
• CPR certification; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum two years of NP experience.
• Proficient with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Able to pass pre-employment Level 2 background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Under indirect supervision, provide independent primary care in a correctional healthcare setting to a specified population of non-emergency patients.
• Perform medical examinations and evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up consultation, and health education.
• Obtain patient histories and develop patient care treatment plans, ensuring completeness and accuracy using the POMR format.
• Supervise and/or coordinate the activities of patient care and/or support staff.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions.
• Prescribe medications and other treatments.
• Participate in planning programs and in developing specific health policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Current license as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Current CPR certification, ACLS certification preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience as a NP.
• Proficient with electronic medical records.
• Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include background check and drug screen.
